Two Army soldiers dead in road mishap

SRINAGAR: Two Army jawans died in a road accident caused allegedly because of poor visibility due to adverse weather conditions in Kupwara district.
“An Army vehicle met with an accident in Langate area of Kupwara on Wednesday night due to poor visibility caused by heavy snowfall,” an Army official said.
Two of our soldiers died in the accident, he said.
The Army identified the deceased as Rifleman Bhim Bahadur Pun and Gunner Akhilesh Kumar.
A wreath-laying ceremony was held here to pay tributes to the deceased jawans, the official added.
“Northern Army Commander Lt General Ranbir Singh, and all ranks saluted the supreme sacrifice of Gunner Akhilesh Kumar Patel and Rifleman Bhim Bahadur Pun. They offered deepest condolences to the families,” a spokesman of Army’s northern command said.
