Kathua DDC reviews progress on major development projects

KATHUA, NOVEMBER 07:- District Development Commissioner, O P Bhagat today reviewed the progress on roads, bridges and major buildings coming up in the district, here at a meeting.
Reviewing the projects taken up under NABARD, CRF and languishing projects category, the DDC directed the Engineers to adhere to the timeline and utilize the funds judiciously.
Highlighting the importance of the projects, the DDC said the roads and bridges when completed will give fillip to overall connectivity and the infrastructure projects like buildings of educational institutes and medical department will provide better facilities to the people living near the District Headquarter as well as far from it.
The meeting was informed that three bridges, one over Ujh near Guddu Flail, and others over Bhenni River in Billawar and Juthana in Kathua will be completed in the current year. All the three bridges are being executed by JKPCC.
Projects being executed by PWD Basholi and Kathua Division were also reviewed threadbare.
The DDC instructed the engineers and executing agencies to ensure timely completion of the projects of both the division to meet the long pending demand of the people of the area.
