6- Day special coaching camp under Khelo India begins at Udhampur

UDHAMPUR, OCTOBER 17: A six day special coaching camp for Boys /Girls under 17 years in the discipline of Badminton, Table Tennis, Boxing, Yoga and Hockey today commenced here at Indoor Sports Stadium.
The camp has been organised by District Administration Udhampur in collaboration with Sports Council J&K under ‘Khelo India’ sports for peace and development.
District Development Commissioner Dr. Piyush Singla was the chief guest who formally declared the coaching camp open while Senior Superintendent of Police Rajiv Omparkash Pandey was the guest of honour on the occasion.
Sportsperson of different blocks of district Udhampur took part in the camp.
In his inaugural address, the Chief Guest congratulated the organizing committee of the Youth services & Sports Department for organizing the camp. He also extended his best wishes to the participants for their best performance in the sports camp. He further said that sports activities help the youth to channelize their energy in a positive way.
After declaring the coaching camp open, the DDC also interacted with the participants and urged them to actively participate in the sports activities for their all round development .
Among others present were Additional District Development Commissioner, Ashok Kumar, Commandant 137 Battalian CRPF, Khalid Khan, Additional SP, Rajinder Katoch, DSP Traffic, Majeeb –Ur- Rehman, District Information Officer, Er. Sajad Bashir Somberia, DYSSO, Swarn Singh, DSP HQ, Rohit Chadyal, Manager Sports Council, Shakteesh Chopra, Station House Officer, Vijay Choudhary besides prominent sportspersons of District Udhampur.
