Diwali arrangements finalized in Samba

SAMBA OCTOBER 16: The arrangements for smooth celeberation of Diwali festival were today finalized here at a meeting chaired by Deputy Commissioner Rohit Khajruia.
The meeting was attended by senior superintendent of police, Shakti Pathak, Additional deputy commissioner, Vikas Gupta, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Kulbhushan Khajuria, Sub divisional magistrate Vijapur, C P Kotwal, sub divisional magistrate Ghagwal, Ritu Majahan besides other district officers.
The DC laid emphasis upon incident free celebration of Diwali festival in the district. He stressed upon providing uninterrupted power and water supply, barricading of temples and other important places.
The DC directed to deploy the fire tenders and emergency services at designated places in Samba, Ramgarh, Bari Brahmana, Vijaypur and Ghagwal to meet any exigency.
The arrangements for proper traffic movement was discussed and the concerned were directed to keep main markets in Samba town free from illegal parking . He directed to notify a temporary parking facility around market area so that maximum convenience is offered to local population.
On security, Sr. Superintended of police gave details about arrangements put in place including alerting all police check points besides taking proper cognizance of any suspicious movement in the city.
The medical arrangements, maintenance of roads, providing sanitation/ temporary toilets, and enforcement and checking of quality of food articles including sweets, fruits, vegetables etc were also discussed. An enforcement committee was constituted comprising AD CAPD, Food Safety officer, AC Legal Metrology and food inspector to check adulteration, quantity and quality of food articles.
The DC directed to immediately lift samples from all the sweets manufacturing units for food analysis and submit action taken report to his office.
