‘370 abrogation decisive for long-lasting peace’

Jammu: Asserting on the second consecutive day that the situation in Valley is totally normal, Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Tuesday said that he believes that people of Kashmir will not support militancy.
Speaking on the recent killing of truck driver and business man in valley by militants, Amit Shah said “These incidents have been reporting since 1990 every year, despite implementation of article 370, so there is no link between militant attacks and the said article. But after abrogation of article 370, I completely trust people of Kashmir will not support militants.”
“After India’s aggression against Uri and Pulwama attacks, there is no probability of such attacks by Pakistan,” he said when asked about possibility of attacks by neighboring country post abrogation of Article 370.
He added that using article 370, Pakistan’s agencies have invoked wrong message among youth about freedom and pushed them towards terrorism. “Now we have abrogated article 370, they are learning that their lives are not affected. They learning that nor article 370 benefited them neither scrapping of article 370 has snatched something from them.”
Speaking on the release of detained former chief Ministers of state, Amit Shah said that the decision will be taken by security agencies. “Once the security agencies review the situation then they will be released accordingly.
On Monday Amit Shah had said that only 1000 person are under precautionary detention currently including former Chief Ministers of the state Omar Abduallah, Farooq Abduallah and Mehbooba Mufti, in the 72 days since the abrogation of article 370 and 35A of the Constitution. “Of these, 800 are stone-pelters,” Shah said.
“Initially 4000 people were detained as a precautionary measure. As the situation normalized, they were released accordingly. Now, only 1000 people are under detention including 800 stonepelters,” Shah said.
Shah added that the situation in Kashmir is under control and there is no curfew in Jammu and Kashmir and only Section 144 was imposed in six police stations.
"Out of 196 police stations in the state only section 144 is imposed in six police stations. The situation is under control. Mobile phones are working now," Shah said.
