‘Delivery of public services, dev of social infrastructure to be focus of district admin’


PULWAMA, OCTOBER 09: A day after assuming charge as Deputy Commissioner Pulwama, Dr Raghav Langar impressed upon the officers to work in unison to ensure better public delivery services mechanism in the district.
The DC exhorted upon the officers to prioritize issues of public importance in their concerned departments and reduce the pendencies. He enjoined upon the officers of essential services to devise a contingent plan for winter months.
He reiterated his commitment to provide an accessible, accountable and responsive administration. He exhorted upon the officers to develop the novel methods of governance and adopt best practices in public outreach programmes.
While reviewing functioning of various departments, he directed ACD Pulwama to execute works under 14th FC and identify viable works under ‘Back to Village’ programme.
Medical Superintendent DH Pulwama apprised the DC about the introduction of DNB programmes at the health institute and briefed him about recent installation of ECHO and Dialysis centre at the District Hospital.
The CEO Pulwama was directed to make all logistic support for fair and smooth conduct of the forthcoming higher secondary examinations.
Meanwhile, PDD authorities apprised the DC about the need of the contingent stock of transformers for winter months.
With regard to Agriculture Department, the DC exhorted upon the officers to mobilize the line departments in providing irrigation and other facilities for a bumber saffron crop under National saffron Mission.
Moreover various departments like Transport, Labour, Cooperatives, PHE, Industries and Commerce were directed to adopt people friendly models of public delivery services.
The meeting was attended by ADC Awantipora/Pulwama besides district and sectoral officers of the district.
