DDC inaugurates Inter-District Tennis Ball Cricket Tournament at kishtwar

KISHTWAR SEPTEMBER 19: District Development Commissioner, Angrez Singh Rana, today inaugurated two day Inter District (Divisional level) tennis ball cricket tournament of boys and girls at historic Chowgan Ground Kishtwar.
District Youth Services and Sports Officer (DYSSO) Jaffer Hussain Sheikh, Conveners, Technical Officials and Escorted officials along with students of participating schools were present on the occasion.
While speaking on the occasion, DDC said that the district administration is initiating all efforts to develop latest sports infrastructure in every village for facilitating youth channelize their energies in a right direction.
Interacting with the participating teams, DDC asked them to play with true game spirit and inculcate in themselves high degree of discipline and decorum which is pre-requisite for their success in the world of sports.
He also threw light on "FIT INDIA" campaign and the importance of sports towards creating a healthy and prosperous society.
The Inter District Divisional Level competition of Tennis Ball Cricket tournament is being held in the age groups of U/17 & U-19 Boys/Girls in which 14 teams from Jammu, Reasi, Kathua, Ramban and Kishtwar are taking part.
Later, a colourful cultural programme was presented by the school students which was organised by the Youth Services and Sports department Kishtwar in collaboration with Cultural Cell Kishtwar and District Information Centre Kishtwar.
