In Valley’s political vaccum, BJP triumphs with massive reachout

SRINAGAR: In last one month, the Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) has carried out more than twenty political and mass reach out programme and events while as other political parties continues to remain defunct and their politicians detained.
The meetings were carried out by the BJP in an environment where there is hardly any space left for any sort of political activities after Centre abrogated Article 370, which used to provide special status to the residents of Jammu and Kashmir including separate flag and constitution.
The BJP from the very beginning have been opposing the Article 370 and it had been their core agenda to remove it.
The party document accessed by The News Now, revealed that while in the month of August merely three political programme were carried out by the BJP in the Srinagar city, which were attended by party workers, the number rose in September.
In this month, the BJP have been conducting mass reach out programme and its leaders are meeting with senior workers, Sarpanches, Panches, and office bearers of party’s Mahilla Morcha, Yuva Morcha, besides meeting with boat owners and transporters across the Valley.
Speaking to The New Now, Dr. Ali Mohmmad Mir, State Vice President BJP said that the party has carried out various programmes continuously across the valley and have reached out to masses since the abrogation of Article 370.
“And, recently during the Seva Saptha programme which was on the birthday of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the BJP carried out plantation drive, blood donation, save water, no to plastic and Svach Bharat Abhiyaan,” he said.
He added, “The BJP also reached out to the doctors, engineers, PHE union. While as also we met , Sarpanches, Panches and Councilors affiliated with BJP and different wings of the party and they all had said one thing very clearly that whatever happened, turned out to be good and in coming time we will continue to reach out to the people across the valley. Further to that BJP also reached to the Baramulla and Budgam recently, where we talked to the people”.
While on the other hand the office of major regional parties National Conference, Peoples Democratic Party, Peoples Conference and Congress wear a deserted look, with prominent leaders either jailed or detained at different places.
On Tuesday, the former Chief Minister Dr. Farooq Abdullah was booked under the Public Safety Act and his home has turned in to a jail.
Mir said that people are happy that politicians are behind the jail.
“While as Pakistan is trying to create mess, but India won’t let that happen, we have proven we are not the same. India is strong and everyone knows that,” he said.
