'Finalise documentation process for works under 14th FC'

KUPWARA, SEPTEMBER 18: District Development Commissioner (DDC), Kupwara, Anshul Garg today chaired meetings to review the working of Rural Development Department (RDD) and pace of work on the Shayama Prasad Mukherjee Rurban Mission (SPMRP) which is under operation in Khumriyal cluster of Kupwara district.
The first meeting discussed progress registered under 1st and 2nd phase of 14th Finance Commission wherein he was informed that over 1000 works have been granted approval from the district administration, the execution on which shall be started soon. The meeting also pace of progress under various schemes including 14th Finance Commission, SBM and MGNREGA.
Additional District Development Commissioner, Mohammad Ashraf Bhat, DPO were also present besides all BDOs of the district.
The DDC also reviewed the progress of work of under construction Panchayat Ghars across the district, besides disbursal of payment to contractors under MGNREGA.
On the occasion, the DDC directed the concerned authorities to finalise documentation process for the works to be taken under the 14th FC.
He directed the concerned for installation of the Citizen Information Board in every Pnachayat halqa for awareness among general public. He also stressed the concerned to take photographs at the site of the work so that the first phase of GEO tagging will be completed.
In the second meeting, the DDC reviewed the progress made under centrally sponsored scheme SPMRM in Khumriyal cluster.
It was informed in the meeting that RDD has taken up 131 different developmental works at a cost of Rs 6.27 Crore.
The education department had also expended Rs 10 lakhs on repairing and renovation of school building/play fields under the scheme.
Reviewing the progress of Handicrafts and Handloom departments, the DDC was informed that 140 unemployed youth are getting skill development training in eight different Centres in Khumriyal.
Speaking on the occasion, DDC stressed upon the officers to speed up the pace of construction and ensure that all works are completed within two months.
He also directed the concerned officers of Agriculture and allied sectors to submit the Work Done Report under the SPMRM on weekly basis.
The DDC also stressed for holding of Gram Sabha for providing proper awareness to the people regarding government schemes.
The meeting was attended by Joint Director Planning, Ab Majeed and other concerned officers.
