DC Baramulla reviews implementation of MIS scheme

BARAMULLA, SEPTEMBER 17: Deputy Commissioner Baramulla, Dr G N Itoo, today chaired a meeting here to review the implementation of recently launched Market Intervention Scheme (MIS) in the district.
The meeting was attended by ADC Sopore Ashiq Lily, SDMs, Tehsildars, Chief Horticulture Officer and other concerned.
A thorough discussion on the effective implementation of the scheme was held during the meeting wherein it was informed that a facilitation centre under the scheme was established at Fruit Mundi Sopore which shall act as multifunctional trading point for apple growers and traders.
On the occasion, the DC directed for mobilizing available human resource for effective and timely implementation of the scheme. He emphasized on creating awareness among apple growers for which he directed for displaying of rate lists and other necessary information about the scheme at vital public places.
Dr Itoo also emphasized upon the Horticulture and Revenue authorities to work in coordination for hassle-free implementation of the scheme.
Pertinent to mention that under MIS, apples cultivated in J&K will be procured directly from farmers by the government run National Agricultural Cooperative marketing federation of India Limited (NAFED).
