DDC Ganderbal reviews progress of I&FC Deptt projects

GANDERBAL, SEPTEMBER 17: District Development Commissioner Ganderbal, Hashmat Ali Khan, today chaired a meeting here to review the overall functioning of the Irrigation and Flood Control (I&FC) Department.
The meeting was attended by ADDC, Shafqat Iqbal, CPO, Anika Mushtaq, ExEn I&FC and other concerned officers.
During the meeting, the DDC sought the details of all the development projects under execution of the Department. A detailed review of ongoing projects, financial as well as Physical achievements was discussed threadbare.
ExEn I&FC appraised the DDC about the status of projects sanctioned and achievements till date in the district.
With regards to flood protection works, the meeting was informed that under Rs 106 crore flood mitigation plan-phase II, construction of flood protection works at various spots on both sides of Nallah Sindh including Shutkari Bridge, Gagangair, Rezen bridge, Kulan bridge, from head works of power canal of Sumbal HEP to Baltikullan Bridge, Margun to Kangan, Kangan to Wayil and from Wayil to Duderhama are included.
The DDC directed the Exen to make de-silting project report canal-wise including Zamindarkhuls so that de-silting shall be carried out with RDD Department under convergence plan.
The schemes that were discussed threadbare include Sheerpathri Canal, construction of storage tanks at ZazanMulbery, LamanDodnar, Gurrod Ganiwan, Gravity schemes at Baba Badr-ud-Din Canal, Hyder Canal Phase II, Ari Canal besides schemes under District Sector and NABARD.
Various issues hampering the progress of projects under execution of the Department were also discussed threadbare.
The DDC impressed upon the officers to expedite the pace of work on development projects so that the physical and financial targets set for current fiscal are achieved in time.
