JAMMU: The Jammu Municipal Corporation’s (JMC) much hyped scheme Jammu Suraksha Yojana, which aims to provide digital security solution to the citizens, is likely to face delay as the corporation has failed to establish service centers (Seva Kendras) in the different wards of the city where interested people could register themselves to avail the service.

On the 20th June, JMC had officially launched Jammu Suraksha Yojana in collaboration with ITI Limited, a Government of India (GOI) enterprise. Earlier, JMC has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with ITI Limited on January 3 this year.

The company will provide two CCTV cameras along with other required equipment to residents at a subsidised cost of Rs 10,000, plus applicable taxes, payable at a monthly installment of Rs 500 only.

A proposal for providing affordable home security solution to residents of Jammu City was placed before the General House in its meeting held on December 15, 2018 by the Deputy Mayor, JMC, for consideration and the same was unanimously passed by the house.

To implement the scheme, JMC had announced to open Seva Kendras in the different wards of the city, where interested citizen can register themselves and avail the benefit of scheme.

“We have successfully completed the work of 29 Seva Kendras and work on other 31 Seva Kendras are going on. Once the work of all Seva Kendras will be completed, the JMC will start registration,” an official associated with Seva Kendras told The News Now.

This is center government’s Public Sector Undertaking (PSU) ITI Liimited initiative to provide affordable digital security solution to the people of state. In first phase it will be implemented in Jammu region and after success it will further extended to the other regions of the state.

Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) has molded its name Jammu Suraksha Yojana to make it appear people friendly.

“Aiming to enhance the vigil and curb the incidents of burglary, the JMC joined hand with ITI limited. Another reason for launching the scheme was that the PSU is providing surveillance system at cheaper cost and sharing 5 percent revenue with Corporation,” an official said.

Subscribers of the facility will have Artificial Intelligence integrated High Definition Indoor Camera, High Definition Outdoor camera besides a door sensor with alert on the mobile phone as part of the package and two sets of Electromagnetic waves based wireless Door sensor.

It was said that other features of the Yojna included, SOS Alert-Special Hotline in which citizen gets immediate support in case of crime and urgency, recording time of 10-35 days and safe storage on cloud, online view with dual Audio Interaction and the system will be internet and mobile based and readily installable.
