KVIC organizes PMEGP awareness camp

Jammu, August 22: To encourage local youth to opt for self employment, Khadi & Village Industries Commission (KVIC) today organized an awareness camp at Village Manyari,(Kathua), under Prime Minister Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP).
The local youth were provided information about the benefits of PMEGP scheme. They were told that under Prime Minister Employment Generation Programme easy loan facilities are available through recognized banks for self-employment and entrepreneurship.
D. S. Bhati, State Director, 1/c, KVIC, J&K, Anil Kumar Sharma Assistant Director/Principal PMTC KVIC, Ex-Servicemen and a large number of local people were present.
D.S. Bhati described the PMEGP Scheme as one of the most beneficial initiative for the first generation unemployed youth. He said after completion of the studies unemployed young people face a dilemma as to which profession to choose for earning their livelihood and awareness of such schemes comes to their aid, guiding them for right way to choose as their career.
He also briefed the gathering about different schemes being implemented by KVIC such as Khadi Programme, Prime Minister's Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP), Honey Mission, Electric Pottery Mission etc. He said that these schemes have been launched to harness the energy and enthusiasm of the youth for establishment of productive enterprise in micro industrial sectors.
