Colorful events mark full dress rehearsal held at Kupwara

KUPWARA, AUGUST 13: Full dress rehearsal for forthcoming Independence Day was today held here at District Police Lines Kupwara.
The Additional District Development Commissioner Mohammad Ashraf Bhat unfurled the National Flag and took salute at the March-past comprising the contingents of JKP, IRP, CRPF, JK Home Guards and Police Commandos.
SSP Kupwara Shriram Ambarker, CEO, and DYSSO besides other District officers were also present on the occasion.
Addressing the function, the ADDC said that work on various development projects is apace in the district. He said that work on 161 languishing projects with an allocation of Rs. 415 crore is going on in full swing in Kupwara. Besides, Rs 213 Crore are being incurred on the execution of various developmental and welfare schemes under district plan.
On the occasion, various cultural programmes were also held. A cash award of Rs.20, 000 was distributed among the cultural troop.
Full dress rehearsal functions were also held at Handwara and Karnah.
Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner Kupwara while chairing a meeting directed the concerned officers to make upcoming Independence Day celebrations a grand success in the district.
