TADA court warrants against 17

JAMMU: In the case of killing of five Air force personals at Batmaloo in 1990, Presiding Officer of TADA Court Jammu Subash Gupta on Friday issued General Arrest Warrants against JKLF Chief Amanullah Khan, Javed Mir, Dr. Ghulam Qadir and Abdul Rehman Dar.
The General Arrest Warrants have also been issued against Riyaz Bhat, Kuhursheed Ahmed Dar, Basharat alias Bitta Karate, Tareeq Ashraf, Shafat Ahmad, Manzoor Ahmed alias Nan, Abdul Majid Bhat, Nissar Ahmed, Mohd Yaqoob, MS Halima, Javed Iqbal Mir, Mohd Yaqoob Pandit and Ghulam. Mohd Taploo in kidnapping of Rubiya Syed case.
Court after perusal of the application filed by CBI observed that despite an order dated 17.9.1991, due to oversight, warrants have not been issued for the arrest of the accused against whom proceedings in terms of Provisions of Section 512 of Code of Criminal Procedure have been initiated vide afore referred interim order .
“Accordingly, it is ordered that the warrants for the arrest of the accused be issued,” the court said, and directed the warrants to be handed over to the Public Prosecutors present for the CBI for execution.
Meanwhile, the CBI informed the court that warrants it issued for production of Yaseen Malik before court couldn’t be executed as the warrants could reached Tihar Jail only on August 7.
The court agreed to issue fresh warrants for production of accused– Yaseen Malik on next date of hearing, and adjourned the hearing for 21 August.
