On a professional front I work for Dell Technologies, on a personal front I am an author, book writing coach, work life balance coach, an Ironman Triathlete and the only Indian fiction author to do so. I consider myself to be a seeker in the spiritual world, a dreamer and believer of love, and I believe that kindness and faith among all human beings to be the ideal way of living.

Has writing always been a part of your life? Or did you chance upon it later on and then instantly fell in love with it?

As a kid I used to love reading comic books and listening to stories, when I grew up I started enjoying narrating stories. I always wanted to become a film maker as I thought that’s the only way to tell stories, but my career took me to the world of IT and then the storyteller inside me decided to write stories and hence I became a writer.

Can you tell us more about your book “The Red Line”?

Inspired by true events, “The Red Line” is a thrilling murder mystery that treads the dark by lanes of international espionage and corrupt defense deals. The exciting story witnesses the journey of an honest cop to discover his true dharma and a brave woman army officer’s selfless service for her country.

How has the response of readers been to your book?

The response of the readers on the book has been phenomenal, they are loving it. Some have already started asking me when it is going to be a Netflix series!

This is your third book. Can you tell us more about your oeuvre, and in which new genres would you like to venture into?

I have already written commercial fiction, “Just Six Evenings” (2015) and “The Amigos” (2017) were love stories respectively. My next venture is into a Self Help Book about the effectiveness of sales personnel.

What type of research went into writing this book?

I researched a lot by meeting various people from Indian Ministry of Defence and other Armed Forces personnel; I cannot disclose more than this as the matter is of national security.

In terms of the complexity of the character and the nuances of the dialogues, the character development of whom was the most difficult in this book?

The lead character of the book Hanumant Shastri, who is in his late 40s and is a declared failure in his police department because he is an honest cop and hasn’t shaken hands with the ‘system’, was the toughest to deal with. Because the world thinks he is not smart and he talks less, his dialogues and reactions to the troublesome situations had to be very measured. This was the toughest character to write for me in the book.

What are your favourite books? Can you share with our esteemed readers about the genres that you like and your favourite authors?

I love all the books written by Dan Brown, Dominique Lapierre, VS Naipaul, Robert Ludlum, and Frederik Forsyth.

What are your other interests apart from writing?

I am a long-distance marathon runner and have completed more than 30 half marathons and 5 full marathons, and I love swimming and cycling. I also take Industry Readiness Seminars in colleges for Students who are keen to make it big in the corporate world. I also work with CXOs working in corporate world as a coach helping them write their first book.

There are many new writers and poets who are aspiring to get their work published. What would you say to them?

They should answer the ‘Why’ first before they want to become an author. When the ‘Why’ is in place, then they should have full confidence and faith in their skills and should create their own style. Every book will find its reader!

Can you share with our readers a motivational quote that keeps you going?

The quote that keeps me motivated is “Nothing is Impossible”.
