DDC Rajouri lays foundation stone GDC Koteranka

RAJOURI, JULY 19: District Development Commissioner Mohammad Aijaz Asad today laid the foundation stone of Campus building of newly sanctioned Government Degree College, Koteranka.
Special Secretary, Higher Education, R.A Inqlabi, senior functionaries of executing agency JKPCC and other officers of district administration, besides, a large number of people of the adjoining areas, Sarpanchs, Panchs and other prominent persons were present on the occasion.
The Sarpanchs and panchs thanked Governor’s Administration for sanctioning the College for this far flung area of District Rajouri.
Addressing people after foundation laying ceremony, the DDC congratulated the locals and said that the long pending demand of Government Degree College in the area has been fulfilled. He said that the Governor's administration is committed to take quality higher education to the rural and far-flung areas of the State. He informed that the college will be constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 13.00 crore.
The college will be constructed in a phased manner and 6 classroom, computer lab, Administration room, Principal’s room, and staff rooms will be constructed in the first phase, he said and added that and the executing agency JKPCC has been asked to complete it by 2021.
He hoped that the establishment of this college will have a huge social impact on the area, besides it will reduce the financial implications on the students who earlier had to travel to Rajouri to pursue higher education.
Special Secretary, Higher Education, R.A Inqlabi said that the Governor’s administration has initiated several measures for strengthening the educational infrastructure in the State so that people living in rural and far-flung areas get quality educational facilities within their catchment area.
Additional Deputy Commissioner, Kotranka, Ved Parkash, Principal GDC Rajouri Shakeel Raina were also present on the occasion.
