DDC Rajouri inaugurates newly constructed GDC Budhal building

RAJOURI, JULY 19: The new campus building of Government Degree College Budhal on Friday presented a festive look as the jubilant students, staff and locals of the area gathered to be part of its inaugural function.
District Development Commissioner, Mohammad Aijaz Asad in presence of Special Secretary to Government, Higher Education, M.R Inqualbi inaugurated the college building and dedicated the campus to the students.
Completed at a cost of over Rs 10.57 crore, the Campus has been built over an area of 90 Kanal lands and can accommodate 600 students. The main building comprises fully equipped computer lab, modern library, over half a dozen spacious classrooms, a common room and office block. At present the college is running only arts classes with a total strength of 230 students.
The chief guest, Aijaz Asad congratulated the gathering on inauguration of the college. He said that so far the college students were taking their classes in the building of Higher Secondary School but from today onwards they have their own building with all the facilities and experienced staff. He also said that it was a long pending demand of the public to shift the classes from the Government Higher Secondary school to the newly constructed building.
The DDC expressed satisfaction over the completion of the campus and said that now the local students won’t have to go to Rajouri and other far off places for higher education. He said with the advent of technology numerous courses are available online and the students can take great benefit from the same. He also emphasized on the introduction of skill development courses to make education more employable.
In his address, M.R.Inqalabi congratulated the students and the locals for the inauguration of the GDC Budhal. He said that the government is taking path breaking steps to modernize education.
A number of civil society members also spoke on the occasion and highlighted the issues related to the college like introduction of science stream, Islamic studies, Kashmiri and other languages.
