Kathua DC presents motorized tricycles to physically challenged persons
KATHUA, JULY 18: Deputy Commissioner, Dr. Raghav Langer today presented motorized tricycles to three physically challenged people here.
The motorized tricycles were provided by the Social Welfare Department in collaboration with State Rehabilitation council.
At the outset, Dr. Langer reaffirmed the determination of district administration to further intensify such initiatives for differently abled persons. He emphasized on the need of maintaining close coordination between SWD and Rehabilitation Council. He exhorted upon the officers to generate mass awareness about Government’s Social Welfare programmes to achieve maximum coverage of eligible beneficiaries.
The DC also asked the concerned officials to ensure that only deserving persons, who cannot afford such services, are covered under such programmes in a transparent manner.
Later, the DC interacted with the beneficiaries and asked them to make proper use of the facility for their better living.
Among others present were District Social Welfare Officer, Abdul Rahim, District Coordinator NYK, Som Zard and other district officers.
