DDC Samba reviews progress of MGNREGS works

SAMBA, JULY 18: District Development commissioner Sushma Chauhan today chaired a meeting and reviewed the progress of works under Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Generation Scheme (MGNREGS).
During the meeting Assistant Commissioner (Development) M. L Tasir, District Panchayat Officer Piyush Dhotra, Executive Engineer, R.E.W Ashok Pangotra, Block Development Officers of samba district besides other officials including AEEs, JEs were present.
Assistant Commissioner Development, gave a detailed overview of the functioning of rural development department and highlighted performances viz-a-viz allocation under district, state and centrally sponsored schemes and the status of the works against proposed allocation. He informed that target of 5 Lakh person days have been assigned and 3338 works shall be executed in the 9 blocks of district Samba. He said 95% of the assets created till date have been Geo-tagged and 124 works approved and technically sanctioned have been uploaded on SECURE (Software for Estimate Calculation Using Rural rates for Employment).
ACD Samba also informed that besides achievements under MG-NREGS, a total of 644 houses, 84% achievement have been attained under PMAY scheme.
District Development Commissioner, directed the concerned officers to lay special focus on water conservation works including construction & renovation of ponds and traditional water resources and also instructed to complete 60% of works under NRMW (Natural Resources Management Works). She said Block wise weekly targets/estimates to be prepared on SECURE and left out panchayats where No estimation has been started till date is to be completed before 24th of this month including estimate under 14th F.C.
DDC also instructed Block Development officers to complete all the F.T.Os (Fund Transfer Order) generation for both wage and material component at the earliest, besides DDC gave instructions to start new works under MG-NREGS and provide employment to all job card holders willing to do unskilled works.
