DC Bandipora interacts with public at Shahgund

BANDIPORA, JULY 18: Deputy Commissioner Bandipora Shahbaz Ahmad Mirza on Thursday held a Public interaction program in Shahgund village of Hajin Bandipora to listen to the public grievances.
Several delegations and individuals called on the Deputy Commissioner and apprised him about various problems faced by them in their respective areas and put forward various demands.
DDC was accompanied by Joint Director Planning Imtiyaz Ahmad, Sub-Divisional Magistrate Syed Shahnawaz Bukhari, district Officers of various departments and other senior officers of the district.
On the occasion, DDC announced establishment of a polyclinic for livestock in Shahgund and directed the officials to prepare a DPR at earliest so that work can be started on the project.
The delegations raised several issues of public interest including construction of roads, lanes, drains and culverts, availability of drinking water, and irrigation facilities besides raising issues of daily life.
The Deputy Commissioner passed on-spot directions in various matters for early redressal of the grievances. Deputy Commissioner Bandipora informed the public that various developmental projects are under execution in Hajin and many more projects are in pipeline.
DC Bandipora assured the delegations that sufficient funds are going to be released through Panchayats for the development of rural areas. He said sustained efforts are afoot to accelerate the pace of development in the district to provide people with all modern facilities especially living in far-flung areas to make their lives more comfortable.
DDC urged the locals to avail the benefit of various state and centrally sponsored schemes under various departments including livestock, handicrafts and Entrepreneurship Development. He said the best way to tackle unemployment is to avail benefit of these schemes to establish one’s own income generation units so that the youth not only get jobs but also provide job opportunities for others.
