Absconding from Rajasthan, 7 gangsters arrested in Nagrota

JAMMU: Seven gangsters from Rajasthan including a mastermind, who were absconding after their recent gang war in their state, were arrested by Jammu and Kashmir police at Nagrota on Wednesday.
Rajasthan police was after them after they opened fire on their rival group in village Kareda in Rajasthan a few days ago.
Unaware about their back ground, the Nagrota Police booked four of the gang members for creating nuisance. Their disclosure gave lead to the police in securing the arrest of three more gangsters.
“After receiving a complaint, we booked four persons for creating nuisance under influence of alcohol at Ban Toll Plaza,” a police official said, adding, “During the interrogation, their disclosures give lead to the police in securing the arrest of three more gangsters.”
The seven accused has been identified as Murli Kumawat son of Bhagirath Ji Kumawat, Satya Narayan Gurjar son of Badri Lal Gurjar, Gopal Gurjar son of Kanha Ji Gurjar, Manish Suwalka son of Gopal Lal Suwalka , Puran Lal Gurjar, Chhotu Gurjar and Bhag Chand Teli—all residents of Rajasthan.
“During investigation, we came to know that the arrested seven persons were gangsters who were absconding from Rajasthan. Puran Lal Gurjar is their leader and they opened fire on their rival group-- Sanwara Gurjar--few days ago at Bemali Chowk in village Kareda of Rajasthan,” police official said.
“By the time the police reached the spot, the gangsters managed to escaped,” he said quoting Rajasthan police.
Following the incident, Rajasthan police lodged FIR and started hunt for them. The Rajasthan police also flashed messages to the police of other states.
Their arrests were made effective by Nagrota police after it received complaint that four persons were creating nuisance under the influence of liquor at Ban Toll Plaza following which they were booked in case FIR No 284/19 and 285/19 U/S 510 RPC.
However, a twist came in police’s investigation when during their questioning, Nagrota police came to know that the arrested persons were gang members of Puran Gurjar.
On their disclosure, Nagrota Police secured the arrest of their three more companions including their kingpin, Puran Lal Gurjar. The trio was hiding near TCP Nagrota.
“We booked them under section 55/109 CrPC and questioning them to ascertain whether they have their network in Jammu and Kashmir,” a police official said.
He added that Puran Lal Gurjar has ten FIRs against him which including drugs smuggling, extortion, attempt to murder and kidnapping. Police said that these gangsters were also involved in supplying of drugs in four states including Punjab, Delhi, Andhra Pradesh and Rajashtan.
“The Rajasthan Police have been apprised about the catch. The wanted gangsters will be handed over to Rajasthan Police after completing legal formalities”, said SHO Nagrota Deepak Pathania when contacted.
