J&K Police cracks murder case, arrests 3

Jammu: The Jammu and Kashmir Police cracked a murder case by arresting three persons in Gharota area here, on the city outskirts.

Police said that on July 3, information was received that three persons, namely Tarsem Singh, Pawan Singh and Dhananter Singh, all residents of Ranjan came in front of the Rakesh wine shop at Ranjan, set it ablaze with the help of petrol and attacked with a sword.

In the incident, three persons present in the shop, namely Ankur Rajput, Pritam Chand and Sahil Rishi also caught fire and received burn injuries and all injured, including one nearby shopkeeper, were shifted to GMC Jammu, from where two persons were later shifted to DMC, Ludhiana.

Police said that during investigation, involvement of seven accused surfaced in the commission of crime.

Suram Singh, SP Rural Jammu said that investigation started and later on, one Ankur Rajput succumbed at DMC Luthiana and accordingly, Section 302 RPC was added to the offences.

A number of raids were conducted at various places within Jammu and other districts, besides seeking the cooperation of locals to nab the culprits, he added.

The accused were identified as Tarsem Singh, Dhanantar Singh, Anil Kuma, Pawan Singh, Vijay Singh and Jaggater Singh.
