Three drug peddlers arrested in Kashmir, contraband recovered

Srinagar, Jul 15: Jammu and Kashmir police has arrested three drug peddlers and recovered contraband from them in separate places in Kashmir valley.

A police official said that following specific information about transportation of drugs, a checkpoint was established near near Mirgund Chowk in central Kashmir district of Budgam. ''Police intercepted a person at the checkpoint and during checking recovered contraband, including 408 capsules of Spasmoproxyvon,'' they said.

The accused, identified as Kaiser Ahmad Bhat, was immediately taken into custody.

Another drug peddler -- Nazir Ahmad Bhat-- was arrested along with a kg of powdered cannabis and 70 grams of charas at a checkpoint in Khag in Budgam.

In another incident, police arrested a notorious drug peddler, Manzoor Ahmad Dar, and seized 18 grams of Brown Sugar from him at a checkpoint in Sopore in north Kashmir district of Baramulla.
