Freedom fighter Sushil Rattan passes away

Shimla, Jun 25 :Freedom fighter Sushil Rattan died at his native place in Jawalamukhi of Kangra district at PGI Chandigarh on Tuesday, a family member informed.
He was ailing for the last few months. He was 95, the family member added.
In 1990s, he lost in an assembly elections with a narrow margin of mere nine votes from Independent candidate Ishwar Dass from Jawalmukhi assembly segment.
He was elected as Chairman of Freedom fighter Board and local bodies. His son was elected as member of
Congress in state assembly in 2009.
Former Chief Minister, Virbadra Singh, his wife Pratibha Singh and leader of Congress party in state assembly Mukesh Agnihotri condoled his demise in a joint statement released to press here.
In message send to the bereaved family, Mr Singh said that with his death, Congress party lost a Patriot and leader of action.
