Srinagar, Jul 24: An elderly Kashmiri Pandit was allegedly assaulted by Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) jawans at Qazigund on Srinagar-Jammu national highway.

Meanwhile, a video showing Krishan Raina, along with his wife, narrating the incident has gone viral on social media.

A CRPF official, however, rejected the allegations saying it was Mr Raina who first argued with the CRPF personnel guarding the area in view of movement of a convoy on the highway.

In about a one-minute-and thirty second video, Mr Raina alleges that his vehicle was stopped by two security force personnel at Levdoora. "I was going to Qazigund. I was asked to stop at Levdoora and was later directed to go back. I told them that I was out to get medicine for my wife who was accompanying me," the elderly man is shown as saying.

He alleged that the security forces without any provocation thrashed him with wooden sticks. “They asked me why I was in Kashmir if I was a Hindu," he said in the video.

Mr Raina also showed his bruises on his arm and head in the video.
