Preparations reviewed, conferences held to sensitize representatives of PRIs regarding effective implementation


JAMMU, JUNE 19: As part of launch of Government-public interface programme “Back to Village, the district administrations today organised a series of training programmes, meetings and conferences to sensitize the officers and the PRIs of their respective districts towards implementation of this ambitious initiative envisaging rural transformation.
At JAMMU, District Development Commissioner, Ramesh Kumar, convened a meeting with the officers of various departments to review the preparations for ensuing ‘Back to Village’ programme.
The meeting was attended by DFO Social Forestry Jammu, Sanjay Kumar Gupta, District Panchayat Officer Jammu, Sunaina Saini, District Social Welfare Officer Jammu, Ajay Salaan, Project Officer ICDS Natasha Kalsotra, chief Agriculture officer S K Langer, Assistant Director Handicraft Ankush Hans, District Sericulture officer Anju Koul, Chief Medical Officer Jammu Dr Danish Khan, Floriculture Officer Vikrant Sharma besides senior officers of other departments.
The meeting discussed contents and activities to be undertaken as part of the programme by different departments.
The DC directed the Rural Development Department to organize activities in each Panchayat in addition to the activities of other departments. He further informed that each department will carry out various awareness and extension activities at Panchayat and village level.
The DC asked the Health department to conduct immunization of children besides distributing baby kits among the beneficiaries.
He asked the Social Welfare, Forests, Agriculture, Floriculture, Sericulture, Horticulture, Handicraft, Industries & Commerce, ICDS, Animal Husbandry departments to create awareness about their respective schemes among the rural masses during the programme.
At RAMBAN, District Development Commissioner, Showkat Aijaz Bhat, conducted a one day Sarpanch conference to sensitize representatives of PRIs regarding implementation of the initiative.
The meeting was attended by ADDC, Nabab Din, ACR, Harbans Lal, SDMs, CPO, Dr. Kasturi Lal, ACD, Zaffer Ahmed Banday, CEO, CHO, CAO and representatives of Panchyat Raj Institutions of all blocks.
DDC stressed upon the PRIs to provide realistic information regarding development scenario, demands, problems and service delivery of different departments in their panchyats besides proposed measures and relevant suggestions for overall development of their villages to visiting gazetted officers.
PRIs were asked to cooperate with visiting officers besides sensitizing the public of their areas to participate in this Government-public interface programme-Back to Village- for availing mega opportunity to ensure desirable development of their Panchayats.
Later, DDC chaired a meeting of district and sectoral officers and reviewed the preparedness for deployment of staff and logistics for smooth conduct of the programme starting from June 20.
DDC directed the BDOs to install posters, banners, hoardings in their respective Panchyats so as to aware the people about the programme. He directed the officers to ensure the presence of frontline government functionaries of their respective departments in their concerned panchayats.
At DODA, District Development Commissioner, Dr Sagar D Doifode today conducted training program for field functionaries and PRI's regarding implementation of the innovative programme.
All the stakeholders were sensitised about the importance of the program in overall development of the panchayats and discussed in detail the logistics besides do's and don'ts of the program.
It has been informed by the officers of RDD that all the measures have been taken into account in their blocks for successful launch of the program like wide publicity through banners, pamphlets in local languages, briefing to the common people through meetings by VLW/MPW.
AT POONCH, District Development Commissioner, Rahul Yadav, today organised a awareness program for PRIs of the district to deliberate on the ambitious outreach project " Back to Village".
DDC said that it will be the best opportunity for the Sarpanchs to connect with the people at the grass-root level and know their problems for practical solutions. He briefed the PRIs about all aspects of the programme and asked them to involve themselves completely for successful implementation of this rural transformation initiative.
Meanwhile, DDC also held a meeting with Sarpanchs yesterday in which they were provided Digital Signature Certificate so that they can easily make the transaction besides providing them a letter from PM.
ACR Poonch, DPO, BDOs and other concerned officers were present in the meeting.
AT RAJOURI, the District Administration organised a conference for PRIs to sensitise them about the programme which was inaugurated by District Development Commissioner, Mohammad Aijaz Asad.
Assistant Commissioner Development, Akhter Qazi, District Panchayat Officer, Abdul Kabir besides other concerned were present on the occasion.
DDC highlighted the objectives of the programme and the activities to be organised during this programme at Panchayat level. He told the PRIs that they have to play a very crucial role towards effective implementation of this ambitious programme.
DDC appealed the Sarpanchs to educate the public for mass participation during the Gram Sabhas.
The Sarpanchs were made aware about the key services to be checked by the Gazetted officers in their respective areas during the programme.
DDC urged upon the Sarpanchs to ensure proper coordination with the gazetted officers for successful implementation of the programme.
At UDHAMPUR, Additional District Development Commissioner, Ashok Kumar convened a meeting with officers of various department to finalize the extension activities planned to be executed during the flagship programme .
Additional Deputy Commissioner, Dr Gurvinderjeet Singh, Assistant Commissioner Development, Neelam Khajuria, DIO, Er. Sajad Bashir Somberia besides other district officers of different department were present in the meeting.
ADDC said that during weeklong programme gazette officers will visit a Panchayat to assess the development scenario of basic requirements of the Panchayat and give a report to government for their redressal of grievances.
He informed that in Udhampur District a cluster of panchayats are allotted to every department for conduction of activities during the weeklong programme.
