JAMMU: To achieve its unaccomplished ‘Mission 44 plus’ in Jammu and Kashmir, the state BJP, on the directions of party high command, has decided to launch special drive to enroll 20 lakh people of the state as primary members of the party.

This was conveyed to the party leaders during the concluding day of the state working committee meeting held at Shaheed Anil Parihar Sabhagaar, Birpur, Jammu.

“In this regard, the BJP, in its state working committee meeting, also assigned duties to its leaders to launch ‘mass contact’ programmes in their respective constituencies/areas and achieve the target of enrolling 20 lakh people of the state as primary members of the party before the assembly elections,” reliable sources within the party informed The News Now.

The leaders were also directed to concentrate on the seats, especially of Jammu regions, where the party could not manage to get leads in the recently concluded Lok Sabha elections, sources informed.
They informed that on the directions of party high command, the leaders, during the meeting, were also told to work hard in the assembly constituencies where the party has its very little presence so that ‘Mission 44 Plus’ is accomplished in the next assembly elections in the state.

“The party leaders were especially told to reach out the beneficiaries of various welfare schemes launched by Modi Government-I and involve more people with the Centre’s schemes to expand party’s base and reach among people before the assembly elections in the state”, party insiders informed.

Meanwhile, in the state working committee meeting, the BJP also adopted its political resolution after lengthy and threadbare discussions resolving to expand party’s base in the state and achieve ‘Mission 44 plus’ in the next assembly elections so that BJP gets its Chief Minister in the state for the first time.
Party also held detailed deliberations on the organisational and policy matters. The meeting was chaired by BJP State President Ravinder Raina.

Union minister Dr. Jitendra Singh, Speaker and former Deputy Chief Minister Dr. Nirmal Singh, former Deputy Chief Minister Kavinder Gupta, former minister Sat Sharma, MLC Ashok Khajuria and Mayor Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC), Chander Mohan Gupta, among other leaders attended the meeting.

Ravinder Raina attacked Kashmir centric political parties like NC, PDP including Congress, saying that they left no stone unturned to fail the local elections in the state and then came out begging for Assembly elections.

Raina congratulated all the dedicated BJP workers for majestic victory in recently held elections and said that BJP won 30 out of 37 committees in Jammu and Lotus has blossomed in Kashmir region as well.
He said that the Parliament elections have shown clearly that we are already winning more than 35 Assembly seats in J&K, while securing 17 lakh votes which is more than the combined votes secured by all other major political parties together.

Raina asked the BJP leaders to work meritoriously for making membership drive a grand success.
