Two drug peddlers arrested, contraband seized in J&K's Ganderbal

Srinagar, Jun 16 : Jammu and Kashmir police has arrested two drug peddlers and recovered contraband from them in central Kashmir district of Ganderbal, police said on Sunday.

Official source said that following specific information about presence of militants, a checkpoint was established at Gund in Ganderbal. “Police intercepted a vehicle at the checkpoint, and during checking recovered contraband from them,” they said.

Two accused, identified as Nazir Ahmad and Mohammad Altaf, on board were immediately taken into custody. “Police has registered a case and initiated investigation to nab others involved in drug trafficking,” the source added.
