Notorious drug peddler held in north Kashmir’s Sopore: Police

Srinagar, June 13: Jammu and Kashmir Police on Thursday claimed to have arrested a notorious drug peddler and recovered Brown Sugar, and cash of Rs 8250 from his possession in Sopore town of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

A police spokesperson in a statement said one person identified as Ghulam Mohi-ud-Din son of Abdul Ahad Dar resident of Ladoora was apprehended for the drug supply offences.

“He has been taken to Police Station Dangiwacha where he remains in custody,” said the spokesman.

“Officers seized some quantity of brown sugar and cash Rs 8250 from his possession,” he said.

“Case FIR No 100/2019 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Dangiwacha and investigation has been taken up,” he added.

“Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighborhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law,” said the spokesman.
