General Elections 2019: 2nd randomization of counting staff held at Kargil

Dry run of Suvidha app, 3rd phase of training of counting staff conducted


KARGIL, MAY 21: The 2nd randomization of counting staff in respect of Kargil and Zanskar Assembly segments of the Ladakh Parliamentary Constituency was held at District Informatics Centre Kargil here today.
The randomisation process was held in presence of the General Observer Ladakh Parliamentary Constituency S.K Singh and District Election Officer (DEO) Kargil Baseer ul Haq Choudhary.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Kargil Sonam Chosjor, Deputy District Election Officer Kargil Nargis Banoo, ARO Kargil Assembly Segment Pawan Kotwal, ARO Zanaskar Assembly Segment Imteeaz Kacho besides other concerned officers were present on the occasion.
The General Observer Ladakh Parliamentary Constituency while speaking on the occasion explained the seriousness required to conduct the counting process by strictly adhering to the ECI guidelines and urged the concerned officers to work in a coordinated manner and not to leave any scope for criticism from any quarter.
The General Observer Ladakh Parliamentary Constituency and DEO Kargil also visited the Counting Centre at Degree College Kargil where the dry run of Suvidha app was conducted at the IT Cell of Counting Centre at Degree College Kargil in presence of the AROs and other concerned officers.
Meanwhile, the 3rd and final phase of training for the Counting Supervisors, Counting Assistants and Micro Observers on Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) and Voter Verified Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT) counting was held at Conference Hall Baroo during which the trainers enlightened the participants about the guidelines of the ECI to be followed during the counting process so as to ensure smooth conduct of the counting process to be held on 23rd of May, 2019.
On the occasion hands on demonstration of EVM and VVPAT was held while as the process required carrying out the counting of votes through EVM, VVPAT were also explained to the participants in detail through informative video clips and detailed power point presentation.
Necessary instructions with regard to the filing up of different forms during the counting process besides instructions pertaining to the presence of contesting candidates, election agents and counting agents were also imparted to the counting staff. The trainers also clarified the doubts and queries of the participants during the question answer session.
The Counting Staff was also urged to work with presence of mind and utmost dedication as to avoid any discrepancies in the counting process so as to ensure smooth culmination of the electoral process.
