Life returns to normal after 4 days in south Kashmir

Srinagar, May 20: Life returned to normal on Monday after remaining crippled for four successive days in twin south Kashmir districts of Pulwama and Shopian against militant and civilian killings.

A police official said that additional security forces deployed in sensitive areas during the last four days in south Kashmir as a precautionary measure to maintain law and order, has been withdrawn.

Shops and business establishments reopened early on Monday morning and traffic was plying normally on all roads in Pulwama, where three Jaish-e-Muhammad (JeM) militants, including a top commander, a civilian and a soldier were killed in an encounter on Thursday.

Business and other activities resumed on Monday after remaining affected since Thursday in Shopian.

Meanwhile, mobile internet services have also been restored in south Kashmir following improvement in the situation.
