PDP worker injured by gunmen in south Kashmir

Srinagar, May 20: A Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) worker was shot at and wounded by unidentified gunmen in south Kashmir district of Kulgam late Sunday night, official sources said on Monday.

They said gunmen entered the house of a 69-year-old PDP worker Mohammad Ismail Bhat at Devsar, Kulgam in south Kashmir late last night. However, before the inmates could do anything, gunmen fired upon Bhat who received two bullet injuries.

Bhat was rushed to local hospital from where he was referred to S K Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS) in a critical condition, they said.

However, later security forces and state police personnel conducted search operation in the area but the gunmen had managed to escape.
