KAS officer found hanged to death

JAMMU: An officer of the Jammu and Kashmir Administrative Service (KAS) was found dead in his private residential flats in a housing tower in the city outskirts.

Identified as Sushil Kumar Atri, the 2004 batch KAS officer was found hanging from fan in his flat room in the Ansal towers in Sainik colony of Jammu.

Sources said, preliminary investigations suggest suicide but confirmation would be made only after investigation, launched into it, are over.

Sushil Kumar stood at number 325 in KAS seniority list and was presently posted as Deputy Director, ICDS, Jammu. He was 2001 batch pass out from GCET and had topped mechanical stream.

A police officer said that they have taken cognizance of the incident and investigations have been launched under relevant sections of law in this regard.
