Mr Fixit to create awareness about waterproofing of new constructions in UP

Lucknow, Apr 25(UNI) Dr Fixit, a leading waterproofing brand from the house of Pidilite Industries Ltd, has unveiled an initiative to raise awareness about total waterproofing practices while constructing a new house in Uttar Pradesh.

"The initiative- No shortcut, featuring Bollywood star Amitabh Bachchan will focus on educating customers on how critical it is to correctly and comprehensively waterproof homes, to avoid issues like leakage and dampness," said Mr Nilesh Mazumdar, CEO, Construction Chemicals Retail, Pidilite Industries Ltd here on Thursday.

Mazumdar said as a part of the initiative, Dr Fixit urges customers to reach out to them, for a free ' Waterproofing guide which will comprehensively guide customers on the solutions to their waterproofing needs to that inadvertent shortcuts can be avoided, in a simple manner.

He said there are around 3.3 crore household in Uttar Pradesh which is likely to expected to increase by 3-4 per cent of the compound annual growth rate(CAGR). It is estimated that only 8 to 9 per cent of the houses are waterproofed using modern waterproofing techniques.
"Globally for every six houses that are painted, one undergoes complete waterproofing but in India the ratio is 20:1. But in any construction, the longevity of the building depends to a great extent on the waterproofing of the structure," he said, while adding that due to lack of waterproofing some of the common problems faced by a house owner are dampness, seepage and leakage.
Mazumdar claimed that UP has been an important market for the company and it wants to raise the awareness amongst consumers about modern waterproofing solutions.
