Punjab govt declares holiday as mark of respect to former minister
Chandigarh, Apr 23 : The Punjab Government on Tuesday declared holiday for the second half in all its Offices, Educational Institutions, Corporations and Boards across the State and in Chandigarh as a mark of respect to former Minister Hamir Singh Ghagga.
Hamir Singh Ghagga was the ex-MLA from Shutrana and former Minister, who breathed his last at his residence in Patiala on Monday evening after a prolonged illness, an official spokesman disclosed this here on Tuesday.
