DEO Shopian reviews arrangements

SHOPIAN, APRIL 19: District Election Officer (DEO) Shopian, Owais Ahmed today convened a meeting to review the arrangements made for smooth conduct of upcoming Lok Sabha elections in the district.
The meeting discussed all election-related matters like deployment of polling staff, functioning of constituted teams, distribution and collection of polling related material. Besides necessary arrangements at district –cum-collection centres including establishment of control rooms, refreshment for polling staff, communication and transportation plans, the status of model and women polling stations and other issues were also discussed in detail.
The DEO stressed on ensuring error-free polling process and asked officers to maintain close coordination with polling staff for fair, free and transparent elections in the district.
Meanwhile, the DEO sensitized the officers about their responsibilities. He also directed the concerned to ensure facilities like water supply, electricity, washroom facilities at designated polling stations well in advance.
Additional Deputy Commissioner, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Deputy District Election Officer, Assistant Returning Officers of Wachi and Shopian, Chief Education Officer, Assistant Commissioner Development, Xen R&B, and other concerned officers were present in the meeting.
