Narayana Hospital celebrates 3rd Anniversary; Shrine Board allocates Rs 2.5 cr for free treatments to deserving patients

Jammu, Apr 19: The Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Narayana Superspeciality Hospital on Friday has celebrates its Third Anniversary.

The hospital was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on April 19 in 2016.

The tertiary care super speciality hospital highlighted some significant milestones and patient-friendly initiatives taken during the intervening period, on the occasion of its anniversary.

On the occasion of their third anniversary, the Shrine Board has offered free and concessional treatments to deserving patients from economically backward sections costing around Rs 2.5 Crores, said the hospital spokesman.

He added that the hospital provided such treatment to Congenital Deaf children undergone Cochlear implant surgery.

With high quality of care and affordable cost, the hospital has touched the lives of more than four lakh people of Jammu and Kashmir apart from a large number of pilgrims who availed of healthcare services here during their Yatra to Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine.

Speaking on the occasion, hospital CAO, Dr (Brig) Man Mohan Harjai said, “It is a moment of pride for the hospital, as in just three years, the hospital has received a recognition as one of the best tertiary care hospitals not just in Jammu and Kashmir, but the entire north region”.

The hospital offers services to all sections of society and has always been on patient-centred care. “We have Centres of excellence in cancer and cardiac care apart from other key specialities, which include liver and gastroenterology, Nephrology - management of kidney disease, urology, orthopaedics, paediatrics and neurology to name a few”, said the CAO.

He further added, “Since its inauguration, the Hospital has performed 6,364 surgeries, performed 1,751 Angiography,568 Angioplasty and in the department of oncology 4,921 patients were admitted for Chemotherapy,653 patients were also given radiation treatment for radiosensitive malignancies.”

“Total 24,790 patients received hemo-dialysis treatment. We have also treated 616 pilgrim patients who had become critical while they were here to visit the Vaishno Devi Shrine. Overall we had 30,7495 out patients visiting our hospital in the last three years,” said Dr Harjai.

However, Jammu and Kashmir Governor and Chairman Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board, Satya Pal Malik was the chief guest on the occasion.
