Light rain or hail storm lashes parts of HP

Shimla, Apr 19: The light rain and hail storm lashed parts of state in last 24 hrs while the sky was partly cloudy on Friday.

This capital town recorded about 26 mm rain or hail storm on Thursday evening. However, it was mainly dry overnight. Pachhad in Sirmaur recorded 17 mm, Mashobra & Jubbarhatti in Shimla six mm each

Bharmaur, Chamba five mm, Kufri in Shimla, Solan, & Dalhousie in Chamba four mm each Janjehli in Mandi, Sarahan in Shimla and Renuka in Sirmouar two mm each.

Minimum temperature of Keylong in Lahaul Spiti was one degree Celsius, Kalpa 2.7 degrees
Manali 3.6 degrees, Kufri 4.6 degrees, Shimla 7.2 degrees, Dalhousie 7.9 degrees, Bhuntar 8.4 degrees, Solan 8.8 degrees, Chamba 10 degrees and Dharmshala 10.4 degrees, Sundernagar 10.6 degrees Mandi 11 degrees, Nahan and Kangra 11.5 degrees, Hamirpur 12.1 degrees, Bilaspur 12.4 degrees and Una 14.3 degrees respectively.

The Met Office forecast rain or thundershower in the mid hills and mainly dry weather rest of state in next 24 hrs.

'Another Western disturbance is likely to bring more rain, hail and snowfall in the part of state around April 23,' Met Office added.
