General Elections-2019: DEO Shopian reviews election preparedness

SHOPIAN, APRIL 15: District Election Officer (DEO) Shopian, Dr Owais Ahmed today chaired a meeting of officers to review preparedness for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections 2019 in the district.
Threadbare discussion was held on various issues including district elections management plan, auxiliary minimum facility, special provision for specially-abled voters, district security arrangement plan, working of committees for EVM management, Transport management, Expenditure Monitoring, Training, Modal Code of Conduct (MCC), Media Monitoring Committee and other related issues.
The DEO emphasized on strict implementation of MCC and stressed on the officers to work in close coordination for smooth conduct of the elections.
Meanwhile, the DEO sensitised the officers about their responsibilities. He directed officers that permissions sought by any political party or candidate related to free and fair electioneering must be provided on the same day. He stressed up on all the Nodal officers to work in coordination and added zeal to ensure free, fair and smooth conduct of the elections
The meeting was attended by Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Dy District Election Officer, Assistant Returning Officers of Wachi and Shopian, Chief Education Officer, Assistant Commissioner Development, Xen PDD, ARTO, DSWO, Tehsildars and all other concerned officers.
