Plantation drive organized at Shopian
SHOPIAN, MARCH 26: District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Shopian in collaboration with the Forest Department Shopian, organized a plantation drive, at district Court complex Shopian.
The drive was inaugurated by Chairman DLSA Shopian, Principal District and Session Judge Shopian, Ashok Kumar Shavan, in presence of Chief Judicial Magistrate Shopian Abdul Qayoom Mir, Secretary District Legal Services Authority Munsif Judge Shopian Lubna Sultan, Addition Mobile Magistrate Majid Farooq, DFO Shopian/Pulwama Mohammad Ayoub Sheikh, senior and junior advocates also participated in the drive.
The drive launched by planting Conifer saplings in the District Court Complex Shopian. The Forest Department provided 500 Conifer saplings for purpose of planting them in all court complexes of the district and at all legal Aid Clinics/ village legal care and support centres of the district. The Conifer saplings were distributed among the para-legal volunteers of the district for planting these in their respective areas. The programme was attended by all the staff members of the district court Shopian in presence of the all bar members.
Thousands of saplings were distributed among the people and were advised by officials to take care of them.
It was informed that DLSA Shopian in collaboration with Forest department Shopian shall be organizing more such drives, planting herbal and medical plants for increasing green cover of the district and prevention of the soil erosion. On the occasion special bags carrying messages for the environment and services given by legal services authority were also distributed.
The officials said that by planting more and more trees we can tackle the alarming problem of global warming. They said by doing so we also can control the air pollution.
Officials also said that by these plantation drives the dream of green and clean India would be met.
