HC orders FIR against ex-VC JDA

JAMMU: The High Court today ordered police to lodge an FIR against former Vice Chairman of Jammu Development Athourity (JDA) Pawan Singh Rathore for dismantling private structures “without any reason and rhyme”.

The court was hearing a case filed last year by three people---Ishan Sharma, Satpal Sharma and Hardev Singh.

The court had forward the complaint to SHO Police station Bahu Fort on 31st November 2018, for the verification.

In the report the SHO Police Station Bahu Fort confirms that entries in the revenue record regarding the land in dispute have been made in the name of complainants and respective mutation have been attested in their favor.

Considering the report, High Court has observed that the accused person have dismantled private structure raised by complainant on land respectively belonging to them.

“JDA was not justified in dismantling private structure,” the court observed.

The court said that accused persons acted in excess of their official duties. In this regard, Court directed SHO Bahu Fort to lodge FIR against the accused persons under relevant provision of law and conduct investigation.
