Three hurt in Shopian mosque blast

SRINAGAR: Three persons were injured in a mysterious blast inside a mosque in Shopian district on Sunday.

Official sources said the explosion occurred in Chowgam village mosque when it was being cleaned.
“There was some problem in the Hamam pipes. While it was being cleaned, a blast occurred resulting into injuries to three persons,” they said.

The injured were identified as Mohammad Yousuf Dar son of Abdul Gani dar, Mohammad Yasin Dar son of Abdul Gani Dar, and Farooq Wagay son of Ghulam Rasool, all residents of Chowgam Shopian.

Soon after the incident, the injured persons were shifted to a nearby hospital for the treatment.

A team of police and fire brigade were on the spot to assess the situation.
