World TB Day observed at Udhampur

UDHAMPUR, MARCH 23: Like other parts of the country, World Tuberculosis (TB) Day was observed at District Hospital Udhampur here today.
Additional Deputy Commissioner, Gurvinderjeet Singh was the chief guest while Deputy Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Santosh Sharma was the guest of honour on the occasion.
District Tuberculosis Officer, Dr. Kavi Raj Sharma briefed about the achievement and work done in the field of eliminating Tuberculosis disease in the district.
A rally comprising ANMT paramedical students and school students was flagged-off by ADC Gurvinderjeet Singh from District Hospital Udhampur.
The rally commenced from ANMT School premises with banners and placards having various TB awareness messages passed through Mukerjee Bazaar Hospital Road, Ramnagar Chowk, Gole Market, Matador Stand, Main Bazaar, MH Chowk, and culminated at District Tuberculosis Centre Udhampur.
Speaking on the occasion, the chief guest said that the main objective of observing the Day was to aware the common masses about the causes and preventive measures for the disease of tuberculosis.
Among others, Medical Superintendent District Hospital, Udhampur, Dr. Vijay Kumar Basnotra, Deputy Medical Superintendent, Dr. Vijay Raina, Dr. Soom Singh, Dr. Makhan Lal Gupta, Dr. Chander Kanta, and other officers of concerned department besides ASHA workers, staff members and students of ANMT school were present.
