HC seeks report on city traffic

JAMMU: The division bench of High Court today directed state government to file detail status report on prevailing traffic scenario in Jammu city within two weeks.

The division bench of High Court comprising Justice Dhiraj Singh Thakur and Justice Sindhu Sharm directed the Planning department to file detailed status report on prevailing traffic scenario in Jammu city within two weeks or fine of Rs 20,000 will be imposed on them.

The bench comprising Justice Dhiraj Singh Thakur and Justice Sindhu Sharm was hearing Public interest litigation (PIL) filed by Citizen Forum regarding flyover project from Shakuntla-Janipur, proposed way back in 2008.

The forum submitted that the project has been abandoned for some extraneous reasons.
