Car recovered, one arrested in Srinagar
Srinagar, Mar 22: Jammu and Kashmir police claimed to have arrested a person and recovered a car stolen on February 14 in Srinagar, a police spokesman said here on Friday afternoon.
He said Police Station Nigeen received a written complaint from one Imtiyaz Hussain Bhat, resident of Saidakadal Srinagar that his car, which he had parked near Hazratbal shrine on February 14, 2019, was stolen.
On this information, an FIR was registered and investigation taken up.
During investigation, it was learnt that the stolen car was seen in north Kashmir.
Accordingly a police team was constituted under the command of SHO Nigeen Riyaz Ahmad Khan under the supervision of SDPO Zakora Sajad Ahmad Malik, who tracked down the car in Sopore.
Finding police party, the driver left the car there only and fled. The stolen car was recovered and the search for the accused was started.
The accused, identified as Nasir Ahmad Mir, resident of Pethseer Sopore, was arrested.
