Educational institutions to remain closed in Sopore, parts of Bandipora

Srinagar, Mar 22: Educational institutions were closed on Friday in apple township of Sopore and parts of Bandipora, where security forces were conducting Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) since Thursday.

The local administration in Sopore have ordered closure of all government and private educational institutions today as a precautionary measure.

Security forces are conducting CASO at Warpora Sopore, where fresh firing was reported.

Three policemen, including an officer, were injured in a grenade attack outside the cordoned off area yesterday.

There were also clashes between demonstrators and security forces in adjacent areas of Warpora.

As a precautionary measure, majority educational institutions remained closed in Hajin area in Bandipora.

However, educational institutions elsewhere in north Kashmir were functioning normally.
