Drug peddler arrested in Srinagar outskirts

Srinagar, Mar 20 : The Jammu and Kashmir police arrested a drug peddler and recovered codeine phosphate at Nishat area of Dal Lake in this summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir, a Police Spokesperson said here on Wednesday.
According to the Spokesperson, the accused was identified as Parveez Ahmad Dar, a resident of Later Masjid Safakadel.
''Police Station Nishat, seized 68 bottles of 100 ml codeine phosphate from a car, which were kept hidden in a bag. The drugs were to be sold among the youth of Nishat and adjoining areas,'' said the Spokesperson.
An FIR was registered and an investigation was taken up, he added.
