JAMMU: The state government on Sunday transferred and posted six police officers including two IPS officers, even as another cop was given additional charge.
As per the official order, Sujit Kumar, IPS (JK:2007), was posted as I/C DIG Jammu-Kathua Range vice Vivek Gupta, IPS (JK:2007), who was transferred and posted as I/C DIG, Poonch-Rajouri Range.
Master Popsy (JKPS:2004), Deputy Commandant, IR-15th Battalion was transferred and posted as Additional SP (Headquarters), Doda vice Vinay Kumar (JKPS:2001), who was transferred and posted as Joint Director (Headquarters), Special Security Force (SSF), against an available vacancy.
Rajnesh Pran, (JKPS:1998), Commandant, IR-18th Battalion and Ranjit Singh, (JKPS:2002), Deputy Commandant, IR-5th Battalion were transferred and posted as Director, Special Security Force (SSF), and Joint Director( Operations), Special Security Force (SSF), respectively, against available vacancies.
Finally, Shabir Nawab, (JKPS:2001), Commandant, IR-21st Battalion was given the charge of the post of SP, APCR, Srinagar in addition to his own duties, till further orders.
These transfers were made after a communication No. 4344/J&K-HP/2019 dated 16.03.2019 from Election Commission of India, an official spokesman said.
