Polling stations finalized at Ganderbal

GANDERBAL, MARCH 15: District Election Officer Hashmat Ali Khan today held a meeting with the political representatives to dispose of various representations regarding change of location of several Polling Stations in the district.
The meeting was attended by SSP Ganderbal, Khalil Poswal, Dy. DEO, SDM Kangan, Tehsildars, SHOs besides representatives of all political parties in the district.
Around 27 representations seeking change/clubbing of Polling Stations were discussed, of which several pleas were taken into consideration as per guidelines of ECI.
After through discussion, a proposal for change/clubbing of locations of several Polling Stations was sent to ECI underlining several issues including security concerns, road connectivity, feasibility and distance of Polling Station from the habitations.
